Easy Frozen Yogurt Bark

Yogurt Bark is a delicious and healthier alternative to ice cream or sugary snacks for anyone who is a fan of frozen treats. This creamy and lightly sweetened with honey treat , can be customized to your choosing. Everything rom berries to summer fruit to dark chocolate and nuts, makes this a refreshing frozen snack or dessert idea.

I’m the only one in the family who doesn’t like to eat yogurt straight from the container. I love it mixed in recipes such as this very popular Easy Yogurt Cake, Lemon Yogurt cake or even Frozen Yogurt or a classic Italian Semifreddo.

And with all that delicious fruit, berries included I thought something cool and refreshing would be perfect.

What are the ingredients in Yogurt Bark?

  • Plain yogurt
  • Honey
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Berries and chopped fruit of choice

What is the Best Fruit to use?

The best type of fruit to use would be anytime type of berry, including strawberries, blueberries, black berries, raspberries, even cut up fruit such as peaches, nectarines, kiwi or even apples.

Adding some chocolate chips or seeds makes a tastier bark too.

How to Make Yogurt Bark

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl whisk until smooth, the yogurt and honey, then fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the yogurt mixture on the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly. Top with berries and chopped nectarine.

Cover with plastic wrap and freeze until firm and frozen. Break into pieces and serve.

Can I substitute with Greek Yogurt?

I used whole fat regular yogurt, but if you prefer plain Greek yogurt that can certainly be used also.

Different additions or substitutions you can use are chopped or whole nuts such as almonds, pistachios, granola or even chia seeds for a real healthy boost.

If you’re in the mood for something indulgent, a drizzle of melted dark chocolate or a sprinkle of shredded coconut flakes can elevate the taste and appeal of your yogurt bark.

You could use chopped bananas, pineapples or even mango for a change. You could also substitute honey with maple syrup if you prefer.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 cup whole yogurt / greek or regular (250 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • ¼-½ cup mini chocolate chips (45-90 grams)
  • ¼-½ cup fresh berries of choice (25-50 grams)
  • 1 medium nectarine ripe but firm (chopped)

Instructions
 

  • Line a 9 x 7 inch (22 x 17 cm) baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl whisk until smooth the yogurt and honey, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour on the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly. Top with berries and chopped nectarine.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for 4-5 hours or overnight until firm and frozen. Break into pieces and serve. Enjoy!

        Can we use frozen berries ?
        And I don’t have apricots at the moment, I think I will leave them out.
        It do you have an alternative, maybe dried apricots.

      2. Hi L, sure frozen berries should work, just don’t thaw them, and dried apricots would work fine. I actually used nectarines, even peaches would be good. Hope that helps.
