Homemade Creamy Nutella Liqueur

Homemade Creamy Nutella Liqueur, a fast and easy liqueur. The Perfect Holiday drink. Creamy and Chocolatey, so good. This simple homemade creamy decadent liqueur has become our new favorite!

Two glasses Nutella liqueur and in two bottles.

I have always been a big fan of Baileys, but after I made this and then we tasted it. We both decided it could easily become this year’s Holiday Liqueur. Friends and family are loving it too!

Recipe Ingredients

  • Nutella – homemade or store bought
  • Milk – whole or 2%
  • Cream – whole, heavy or whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
  • Granulated sugar
  • Vodka – good quality
Liqueur in a glass.

How to make Nutella Liqueur

In a medium pot on low heat add Nutella, milk, cream and sugar, stir with a wooden spoon, as soon as the mix starts to boil remove from heat and let cool completely, stirring occasionally.

Then add the vodka and stir to combine. Pour into bottles and refrigerate a few days before serving.

If you love creamy liqueurs like Baileys then you are going to love this Nutella Liqueur or as they call it in Italian Nutellino. And unlike Limoncello  you don’t have to let it sit for a few weeks, just leave it in the fridge for a few days and serve. So good.

If you like it really cold like me you can even keep it in the freezer just make sure to leave it at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. Sometimes it hardens a bit on top, just shake it up and serve.

Ours certainly didn’t last very long, but be sure to conserve this Creamy Nutella Liqueur in the fridge, and it can last up to a 2-4 weeks.

Just made this and wow the house smells fantastic, like Nutella, canโ€™t wait to taste it in a couple days!! Also quick question, does the mixture actually have to come to a boil? Instructions state low heat and stir until the mix comes to a boil, I cranked the heat up a little to more of a medium heat and it came to a fast simmer rather than a boil, will this be fine?

I have been making this recipe for years. Even my husbandโ€™s 89 year old grandmother who NEVER drinks loves it! Itโ€™s not a birthday or holiday without it. Will be giving it as gifts this year! Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜Š

        Hello,

Can I just check if cups is 250ml cups or as in a glass cup please? Just trying to figure out measurements! Thanks so much, looking forward to making this as gifts this year ๐Ÿ™‚

I have made this a few times & everyone loves it! This year I am giving it out as Christmas gifts. If I was in US, I would experiment by using different flavors of vodka, such as caramel. I have also thought about using walnut liqueur in place of 1/2 the vodka.

Hi Rosemary, Iโ€™m so glad I found this recipe on Pinterest. Iโ€™ve been making it to gift to friends and family at the Holidays ever since ~ in fact, requests start coming in November! Itโ€™s simple to make and looks festive in swing-top bottles (Amazon) with a label attached with pretty ribbon.

This recipe is great. My adult grandkids love it. I make them a bottle of it each for Christmas present. Thank you ๐Ÿ’–

    1. Hi Wendy, I really don’t know, I have never used that before, the taste I imagine would be totally different. You could try, let me know if you do. Take care!

  6. Hi Rosemary, being Australian I will use metric measurements. Is it a conversion glitch where it says 178.74 g + 1 tablespoon of cream. Am I right in thinking the 178 g is the full amount of cream? Thanks for your advice, Judy

    1. Hi Judy, actually it would be 178 + 1 tablespoon, the gram calculator in my recipe card does do tablespoons, so I am updating posts to show in the notes the total including the tablespoon, a lot I haven’t done yet and this is one of them, but thanks because I just updated it. So the total amount of grams is 193. I hope you like it. Take care and have a wonderful Sunday (or your Sunday might be over?)
