Homemade Creamy Nutella Liqueur
Homemade Creamy Nutella Liqueur, a fast and easy liqueur. The Perfect Holiday drink. Creamy and Chocolatey, so good.
This simple Homemade Creamy Decadent Liqueur has become our new favourite.
I have always been a big fan of Baileys, but after I made this and then we tasted it. We both decided it could easily become this year’s Holiday Liqueur.
Friends and family are loving it too!
If you love creamy liqueurs like Baileys then you are going to love this Nutella Liqueur or as they call it in Italian Nutellino. And unlike Limoncello you don’t have to let it sit for a few weeks, just leave it in the fridge for a few days and serve. So good.
If you like it really cold like me you can even keep it in the freezer just make sure to leave it at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving.
Sometimes it hardens a bit on top, just shake it up and serve.
Ours certainly didn’t last very long, but be sure to conserve this Creamy Nutella Liqueur in the fridge, and it can last up to a 2-4 weeks.

Hi there! Have you tried this recipe with Everclear for a bit more kick? Do you think it would behave the same as vodka if added same amount and once cream has cooled? Thanks! Canโt wait to try it!
Hi Charity, yes you could use Everclear, Italians use a really strong alcohol for liqueur recipes. Let me know how it goes. Take care!
Good, but does not quite make 4 cups..
Have you tried making this dairy free?
Iโm wondering if I could substitute with nut milk and coconut cream?
Hi Amy, no I haven’t, but if you try it let me know how it goes. Take care!
Hi
Planning to make this next week.
May I know how long does it last if not refrigerated?
If I want to send it to someone who is far, and it’ll take 2-3 days to reach them.
Will the liquor be okay?
Hi Nikita, yes 2-3 days it should be fine. Even up to 4, the alcohol will help preserve it. Let me know how it goes. Take care!
OH MY!!!! I made this recipe to give as gifts ~ tripled the recipe TWICE, it was so good. I found cute little 12-oz stopper-topped bottles on Amazon and dressed them up with greenery and ribbon bows with a hand-written gift tag, and oh what a hit they were!!! This liqueur recipe is a WINNER, and Iโll be using it for Christmas gift giving from now on. Thank you!!โ
Hi Anita, thanks so much, so glad everyone enjoyed it. Happy New Year.
I have noticed that you responded to commenters regarding how long this may be refrigerated for. I have seen 2 weeks as well as 1 month in the replies. Is it one month refrigerated, until the bottle is open and used? Then 2 weeks after the bottle is opened?
I always say 2-4 weeks, it’s really not in a sealed bottle it’s a closed bottle, so after the 2 weeks, I would taste it, smell it and see if any mould has appeared before consuming.
When do you add the whipping cream?
Hi Rita, you add the cream in the pot with the Nutella, milk and sugar. Hope that helps.
This is my third year making this awesome Nutella Liqueur…makes great Christmas gifts. One thing worth mentioning is to make sure and let the mixture cool completely before adding your vodka. Last year I mistakenly didnโt do this and it didnโt mix properly. Another thing worth mentioning is that chocolate vodka takes this recipe over the top!
Hi Karen, thanks glad you like it, although it is written in the recipe instructions to cool it completely before adding the vodka. Have a great weekend.
Why stir with a wooden spoon?
Hi Nic, because wooden spoons are heat resistant so you don’t have to worry about that while stirring. Hope that helps.
What is the cute star topping you put on the glasses?
Hi Sandy, thanks I think I got those in a small shop in Italy. ๐
Have had this itโs delicious.Making it this week. One question can you put this in any kind of container that has a top?
Hi Patty, yes any container but it might not last as long in a plastic container. Check it after a week or 2 before serving.
Was there a specific kind of vodka you recommend. I tried looking some up now and I know thereโs some that already have a slight sweetness to it like svedka. Then there are premiums like ketel one, Belvedere and grey goose that are smooth and can be as low as 80 proof. Is there one specific one you find works best or maybe a specific proof number?
Im really excited to make this and gift it to my friends.
Hi Starr, I used a Vodka here that is called Stravinsky (Italian) and it’s 38%. I hope that helps. Let me know.
may i use either whole milk or half and half to replace the cream, which i wont use??
what part of Italia are u in? i’ve been there many times and just love the people, art, food, surroundings!!
Hi Kelli, you could probably use half and half but not milk, it won’t be as creamy but still good. I am just outside Rome in the Region of Lazio. Let me know how it goes.
I am looking to make this for an Xmas present, how long can I make and store it for?
Hi Sarah, once it is made it should be stored in the fridge, it will last up to a month in the fridge.
This liqueur is awesome. You say makes 4 cups , is that about 1litre? Because I only made 600 ml .Did I do something wrong?
Hi Maria, thanks glad you enjoyed it, could be my calculation was off. So I am sure you didn’t do anything wrong. ๐
