Grilled Rosemary Marinated Steaks Celebrating #Canada150
Grilled Rosemary Marinated Steaks, a tender tasty grilled steak, to help celebrate Canada’s 150th.
To continue with my Celebrating #Canada150, I thought the perfect second recipe in the series would be a delicious Grilled Alberta Steak.
Naturally I can’t get Albert Beef in this part of the world but I can get a Steak. And thanks to Food Network Canada, I decided to do something that I never do. And that is marinate. I know crazy right?
And after tasting this amazing, tender and tasty steak that I have made a few times already it is something I will certainly continue to do.
I love Italian food, I love Pasta, Pizza, Tiramisu just to name a few, but I am sorry they really need lessons on grilling meats.
As my father would say “it’s as tough as shoe leather” and yup it usually is, or else burnt. They have a thing about anything that is not well done or as I say well well well done.
But not anymore because these Grilled Rosemary Marinated Steaks will be on the menu.

But anyway back to Celebrating, the first Recipe I made were Maple Leaf Sandwich Cookies which I like to think represents all of Canada, now it’s Alberta’s turn.
A Western Province famous for Oil, Lake Louise, Banff, the Calgary Stampede and the Start of the Rocky Mountains. The two Major Cities are Edmonton and Calgary.
I am embarrassed to say I have seen little of this Massive Nation including Alberta but one day we will, the Italian can’t wait. But for now I will enjoy this Grilled Rosemary Marinated Steaks. Buon Appetito!

Grilled Rosemary Marinated Steaks
Ingredients
- 2 pounds steak (thick at least 2 inches) 1 kilo
- 1/2 cup soya sauce (126 grams)
- 1/4 cup balsamic (59.5 grams)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (45 grams)
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a closed bag or bowl, mix together all ingredients (I used low sodium soya sauce so I add a little salt) except the steaks. Once ingredients are mixed well, add the steaks and turn to cover well with marinade.
- Place bag in fridge and leave over night (turning a couple of times).
- Pre-heat BBQ, Grill or Pan Grill, remove steaks from bag and place on hot grill, turn and cook until desired doneness. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
What kind of steak should I buy to make this dish? Thank you!
Hi Lana, I used a t bone steak, but any thick cut tender beef steak would work. Hope that helps.
I love marinated steak. Looks amazing.
