Christmas in Italy is very different than how I spent it in Canada. From what is served on Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. The different baked goods and especially The Cookies!
What makes a Christmas Cookie Italian?
In my opinion after making lots of both I think there are 2 big differences, one being Italian cookies are less sweet and they are quite simple, no frostings and rarely any fillings.
Usually containing nuts, especially hazelnuts and almonds and sometimes chocolate and always dark chocolate rather than milk.
